I'm 36 and suffer from adult acne. I can't afford the dermatologist antibiotics every month. No face wash or spot treatment was working. I came across blogs where people said Zinc helped so I gave it a shot. This type of Zinc got a lot of positive reviews so I thought "what do I have to lose..?I take 1 capsule in the morning with breakfast. It's been a little over a week and the bad acne I had when I started has mostly cleared and I have no soon to be ugly cystic acne forming. I feel like my face is finally healing. Didn't bother my stomach either, no after taste. So far it's working faster and better than anything else I've tried.
Yes, I recommend this zinc. Highly effective. THORNE is an exceptional brand. I also take their Pure Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) in the 1 gram capsules. Next I'm ordering their Vitamin D3. My doctor (an M.D., but not your typical doctor in that she is VERY well versed with vitamins and supplements) turned me onto this brand. It's excellent.
Has worked amazingly well to help clear up my 16 year olds acne in just one month!

I use this as a laxative. One heaping scoop in a half glass of water, followed by another half glass of water. Do it as soon as you get up in the morning, before you eat anything, and wait half an hour before eating. Effects seen in 1-2 hours. Releases directly into your colon so it's better than osmotic laxatives like polyethylene glycol (washes away/kills normal flora in your intestines).Tends to leave crystals of bitter stuff at the bottom of my glass, which I need to add more water to and swirl around to get it in suspension (won't dissolve).
Not what I was expecting in the taste department. I've used powdered vit c in the past and recall the taste was tangy but totally bearable. This stuff is awful! I tried it in water, not happening decided against my better judgement to place it in my smoothie and it ruined the flavor profile. I'd love to know what tricks others have used to make this palatable. I can't judge how great the powder works because I can't get past the taste enough to use it. It's so bad I'm going to look into the return policy & I never return anything. Organic sulfur crystals taste like heaven compared to this.....Follow up review......based upon another review imade a last ditch attempt and mixed the vitamin C with OJ & water what a difference it made. I've been able to take this everyday since without a problem. Definitely mix this with orange juice it's the way to go.
This stuff is incredible. It's saved me multiple times from getting full blown sick with a cold. I don't take it every day, but the moment I feel a cooked coming on, I'll pour a scoup into a cup of water and mix it with done juice to reduce the intense taste; within hours I feel my better usually. Yesterday, I woke up with a really strong sore throat, took a scoop of this and felt my body working to fight off the virus immediately. After several naps, something broke by dinner and I could tell I was over it. I've tried doing the same thing with regular generic Vitamin C pills before and didn't have the same results.

These are excellent prenatals. I began taking these in preparation of TTC after I was diagnosed w/ MTHFR. I feel great and I know I'm getting all of my vital nutrients. My doctor suggested taking these for 3 full months before TTC and on the 4th month I conceived. I know my baby is getting the best possible prenatal available. I don't mind taking 3 per day; it's worth it.
I have the MTHFR mutations and am planning to get pregnant again. Used Thorne's prenatal with my last pregnancy. Never has made me nauseous as long as I take after I've eaten. My midwife was very impressed that I knew about methylated folates and the benefits over folic acid. Even if you don't know your MTHFR status, look into folates vs folic acid. Your body will thank you!!
I started taking these a few months before I wanted to get pregnant and I loved them. But I never understood why it had 7000% the recommended daily value of b12. I didn't think it was a big deal because b12 is water soluble and your body supposedly gets rid of whatever you don't need. That is until I read articles about how pregnant women with levels of both folate and b12 that are too high can increase likelihood of autism in babies. I went to my ob/gyn and got my b12 levels checked to see where I was at after being on this vitamin for a few months. My B12 levels were high and above the threshold that was indicated in the study as problematic. So I switched to a vitamin that has folate and other forms of methylated B vitamins but lower levels of b12. I'd love to learn why Thorne puts so much B12 in their vitamin - I'm sure there's a reason. But unfortunately, it was too much for me.
