Only one use so far, but I'm happy with it. It fit well and the velcro kept my hockey socks up.Regarding sizes, here is what's on the tag:Waist size - InchesBoy's XXS: 19-20"Boy's X-Small: 20-22"Boy's Small: 22-24"Boy's Medium: 24-26"Boy's Large: 26-28"Boy's X-Large: 28-30"Men's X-Small: 28-30"Men's Small: 30-32"Men's Medium: 32-34"Men's Large: 34-36"Men's X-Large: 36-39"Men's XXL: 40-44"
Prior to ordering this pare of Hockey Shorts I was a little bit reserved because I found it difficult to find a good sizing chart/guidelines, even from the manufacturer's website. I did an image search though for "Shock Doctor men's sizing" and found an image that had a suggested sizing for men's underwear/sport gear from Shock Doctor, and was recommended the XL for my waist size. After receiving it I did try them on to make sure they fit, as well as to get a better idea of the build quality and how they worked. They fit perfectly, they're not terribly loose, but the waist feels good, the shorts are loose enough, and the cup holds securely. So these are mesh Hockey Shorts (The Hockey Shorts means that they're designed for use for Hockey Players, as they have Velcro contact points built into the shorts to secure, I think the socks, I'm not sure though), they have what is basically a sort jock strap built into the shorts themselves, with a sort of mesh/cloth holder for the cup (which is installed already) that more or less position's itself as soon as you put the shorts on.The Bioflex cup is really comfortable, feels very secure, and provides just enough cushioning around all the cup to skin contact areas that if I were to take a knee/foot/whatever to the groin that I'd be quite fine and be able to carry on. These are designed for hockey players, but I got them for sparing practice as I'm not a big fan of jock straps on their own. I like the material, it wicks away moisture and the mesh material gives good air flow, and the cup is really nice and provides really great protection.
My husband is extremely picky about his hockey gear and after careful review of specs and other quality items made by shock doctor we gave these a whirl because we were in a bind and needed to order something quickly for his first time back on the ice since his senior year. Not only did they fit well and do their job but his teammates even asked for the link to them to order them for themselves. I have since recommended them to anyone in the market for a new set. I highly recommend this!
