I'm SO very unhappy with the new formulation that has replaced psyllium with oat powder. Thought it was the same product that had been working so well for me, but this stuff is not effective and causes discomfort. Wish I'd known before I bought two containers. I even opened the second one early because I thought I'd gotten something else by mistake, it looked so different (buff colored instead of dark tan). Thorne, this not an improvement and you should go back to what worked best for your loyal customers. I'll be demanding a refund!
The first 5-7 days of one scoop per day was rough as it was working its way through my system getting me unplugged, so I had to regularly massage my gut to help things along. However, once things got movin' and groovin' I've had no discomfort, and have never been so regular with bowl movements in my life. The bloatiness is gone, and everything comes out great. I get all my nutrition products from Thorne Research as they are trusted for quality and purity. Also, this is the only fiber supplement I found that contains inulin, which comes from the agave plant, and acts as a probiotic to help equalize the gut bacteria. I can't back this up with any of my own scientific observations, but as good as I feel it's doing something good. You'll need to take this with a protein shake, or something it mixes well with as it tastes terrible with only water. Can't taste it otherwise. I've been doing a scoop a day since my first purchase back in last July. Will continue to purchase as long as it's sold.
We've been using Medibulk for our cat's GI issues for many, many years, with success. This new formula replaces the psyllium for oats (WHY?!?!). Unfortunately, we thought we were ordering the last few tubs of the old formula (I swear it said so in the title at the time of ordering), but the new formula arrived. We've been trying it for a few weeks now and it does not work like the old formula. My poor ol' cat is constipated again. We'll be looking for something else that has psyllium husk. Goodbye, Medibulk.
